What We Do

We open our doors every day to walk alongside the homeless, hungry and hurting of Philadelphia so that they may experience the love of God through acts of mercy, dignity and respect. Our guests come for shelter and food, and also find a holistic, empowering refuge from the streets through deep, intentional care.

Meals

Philadelphia’s only provider of indoor meals EVERY day - 365 days a year, we serve up to 10,000 meals each month to anyone who walks through our doors.

As the city’s largest and longest-running shelter, we provide a safe, clean refuge off the streets along with deep, intentional engagement to see a long-term impact. 1/3 of all homeless men in Philadelphia are sheltered at Philly House each year.

After being removed from his home unjustly, Michael found his way to Philly House and is now a member of our Next Level Program and Community! Since his arrival, Michael has volunteered up to 40 hours a week in the fundraising office. We are thankful for all the ways Michael has helped our team and we are excited to continue supporting him on his journey. ❤️

Last weekend we were able to celebrate all of the October birthdays at Philly House with the help of @epicchurch! Their team of volunteers visited Philly House on Sunday to help us decorate and serve lunch to our Guests and Residents. Their team also took the time⠀ to clean and pray over each of the 150 beds in our emergency shelter. Thank you Epic Church for your continued support and kindness!

Life transformation for our Guests and Residents is the reason why we do what we do. We are happy to share that Andrew, pictured above on the left, will be starting a new job soon after spending time in Whosoever Gospel Mission’s New Life Program! More than just breakfast on a Sunday, Philly House serves over 10,000 meals per month to the public. As a result, Nathaniel now has a permanent home.
