At Philly House, we’re motivated by our Christian faith to demonstrate love, compassion and dignity to people experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia.

Leadership

Meet our leaders and learn a bit about why they believe in Philly House.

Rev. Jeremy Montgomery, MBA/MA President and CEO of Philly House

President & CEO

Rev. Jeremy Montgomery, MBA/MA

WHY I WORK HERE:

“I possess a strong urgency to serve the urban poor and those lost and in need…Philadelphia is a landmark historical city with a rich heritage, yet with deep and unmet needs. I am committed to ensuring Philly House is a leader in homeless services and programs in Philadelphia.”

President & CEO

Rev. Jeremy Montgomery, MBA/MA

Jeremy brings a rare blend of ministry, social service, and business leadership experience, holding both a Master’s in Urban Ministry from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and an MBA in Management from Eastern University. His leadership is deeply informed by personal experience—having faced homelessness twice in his own life—and by a lifelong passion for helping others flourish both physically and spiritually. Raised in a family that welcomed more than 100 foster brothers and sisters, Jeremy’s heart for service began early. His ministry journey started in high school and led him to frontline roles in gang intervention within Boston Public Schools and in street outreach to at-risk youth. Before joining Philly House in November 2018, Jeremy spent eight years as an executive with Habitat for Humanity, as well as previously in other nonprofit Christian roles. Today, Jeremy leads Philly House with a clear mission: to restore dignity, rebuild lives, and renew hope for men experiencing homelessness. Under his direction, Philly House has more than doubled its budget and continues to set new standards of excellence in holistic Christian care, creating pathways toward stability, purpose, and self-sufficiency. Jeremy is a dedicated fan of the Boston Red Sox, and since arriving in Philadelphia, he has developed a newfound love of sailing and racing J-27 boats on the Delaware River with the Liberty Sailing Club and his wife as co-skipper.

Director of Donor Experience

Mike Johnson

WHY I WORK HERE:

Coming Soon! Mike joined our Team on November 1, 2025.

Director of Donor Experience

Mike Johnson

Mike most recently served for over six years as Chief Executive Officer of Yakima Union Gospel Mission, and prior to that was Executive Director of Tacoma Rescue Mission. His leadership has included strengthening financial health, expanding mental health services, launching outreach initiatives, and developing innovative job-training programs for mission guests. Earlier in his career, Mike also held key leadership roles at Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission, including Men’s Shelter Director and Special Projects Director, where he introduced trauma-informed programming and expanded shelter capacity. Beyond his direct rescue mission leadership, Mike founded Climbing Out of Homelessness (now Recovery Beyond Paradigm), a unique program that combined mountaineering with recovery support, featured in the award-winning documentary A New High. His breadth of experience in rescue mission ministry, nonprofit leadership, and innovative program design makes him well prepared to provide stable leadership for Philly House during this transition. As a proud father of seven adopted children, moving here from Washington State, he is joined by his wife and his youngest son.

Erin L. Director of Homeless Services at Philly House

Director of Homeless Services

Erin L.

WHY I WORK HERE:

“I believe every person deserves to be seen, heard, and treated with dignity — especially those society overlooks. Far too often, individuals experiencing homelessness are failed by the very systems meant to support them. At Philly House, I have the privilege of walking alongside them, advocating on their behalf, and being part of work that brings us closer to true justice. Together, we strive to restore hope, stability, and the sense of worth that should never have been lost.”

Director of Homeless Services

Erin L.

Erin is driven by a passion for justice and a deep desire to ensure that everyone feels a sense of belonging. Joining Philly House in April 2019, she is grounded in the belief that every person—regardless of their circumstances—is worthy of dignity, hope, and the opportunity for redemption. With over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector, Erin previously served as a Director at a Community Action Agency in Michigan, overseeing county-wide homeless services and prevention programs. Her hands-on work with HUD’s Continuum of Care (CoC)—including HMIS—equipped her to navigate Philadelphia’s systems and serve our shelter guests with insight and care. Erin was honored to be elected to the Philadelphia Roadmap to Homes CoC Board in 2022 and served through 2024. Every day at Philly House, Erin is moved to advocate for those who walk through our doors—believing in their potential, their worth, and the possibility of a renewed life.

Mark Blevins Director of Staffing at Philly House

Director of Staffing

Mark Blevins

WHY I WORK HERE:

“I believe I was led to do something meaningful. I worked corporate jobs for years and was never happy at what I was doing. I prayed to be led in the right direction to a job that would help make an impact and difference in some way. Working at Philly House has answered my prayers and allows me the opportunity to help the hurting, hungry and homeless of Philadelphia."

Director of Staffing

Mark Blevins

Mark joined Philly House in April 2018 after 13 years with home-improvement company, Lowe’s. He is a dedicated HR leader, elevating Philly House to a five-star service provider inside and out. Mark arrived in Philadelphia during his service with the US Navy in 1986 and fell in love with its rich history. When not supporting the staff of Philly and its guests, Mark enjoys spending time with his family and friends as well as spending time in the gym and enjoying travel every opportunity he can.

Case Manager

Joseph Gonzalez

WHY I WORK HERE:

“To invest into not only the hearts and minds of our homeless population at Philly House, but also the wellbeing of their souls.”

Case Manager

Joseph Gonzalez

Joseph joined the team in 2020 to respond to God’s calling in his life to serve others in ministry. After experiencing food insecurity and near homelessness while attending high school, he knows the value that a safety net can provide. With a heart of compassion and justice, Joseph is committed to working alongside the Homeless Services team to be that safety net for men across Philadelphia who experience homelessness. An honors graduate of Clark Summit University with a degree in Intercultural Studies & Bible, Joseph is dedicated to being involved in the spiritual care of every person Philly House serves, from Bible study to playing chess. When he is not serving at Philly House, Joseph enjoys kayaking, fishing, and discovering delicious food spots around Philadelphia.

Case Manager, In Partnership with the Lincoln Center

Shalina Redding

WHY I WORK HERE:

"I truly want to help make a change in the lives of the people I engage with in any capacity. Whether I'm serving a meal, engaging in small talk, or offering resources. I believe this city has hardened our hearts to the point where we lack compassion for those that are in need, homeless, suffering from mental health issues or just having a hard time in life right now. We all need just one person that will not give up on us and I want to be that person for as many men and women who come through the doors of Philly House. "

Head of Donor Care

Angie Vincent

WHY I WORK HERE:

“Working at Philly House was an unexpected opportunity. I love sharing a meal with our guests and hearing their stories. Through these encounters, God has expanded my view of the kingdom and his love for all people. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to serve our guests and donors.”

A quote from Board Chairman Jeffrey Harvey.

"I serve on the board of Philly House because I love the city of Philadelphia. From my worldview, there is no better way to make this city stronger than by sacrificially serving the least among us. The hungry, hurting and homeless need our time, talent and treasure.”

Jeffrey Harvey
Board Chairman
